FAQ

Questions families ask us

Where are you located, and which areas do you welcome families from?

Our farm is in Rio Linda, California, in the Sacramento area. We welcome applications from Sacramento and surrounding communities, including Elverta, Antelope, North Highlands, Roseville, Rocklin, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Elk Grove, West Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Carmichael, Fair Oaks and Orangevale.

Approved families visit by appointment once the puppies are six weeks old. All puppies are picked up in person at our Rio Linda farm; we don't ship. Tell us about your family to get started.

How much does a puppy cost?

Our puppies are $1,200 to $1,500, and each puppy's price is listed on its card. Your $400 deposit goes toward the price, and the balance is due on go-home day.

How do I reserve a puppy?

Start with an application. Once we've talked by phone or video and your application is approved, a $400 deposit holds your place on our list.

Deposits are non-refundable, because we turn other families away to hold your spot. If our litter doesn't have the right puppy for you, your deposit moves to our next litter. We refund your deposit in full if we can't offer you a puppy, or if we decide a placement isn't the right fit.

You'll get a written receipt for every payment.

How is the pick order decided?

Families choose their puppy in the order deposits were received. Picks take place at 7 weeks (October 21 for this litter), in person at the farm or by video call.

How do I pay?

We accept cash, Venmo and Zelle. We will never ask you to pay with gift cards, and we only take deposits after we've spoken with you.

When can puppies go home?

Puppies go home at 8 weeks old. For Nalla and Rex's litter, go-home day is Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Please pick up your puppy by 9 weeks unless we've arranged otherwise.

Can I visit the farm?

To keep our puppies healthy, we don't have visitors until they've had their first shots at 6 weeks. Until then, we share photos and videos every week so you can watch them grow.

From 6 weeks on (October 14 for this litter), approved families are welcome by appointment. To protect the litter, please:

  • Don't visit on a day you've been to a shelter, dog park, pet store, or another breeder.
  • Leave your own dogs at home.
  • Wash your hands when you arrive and wear clean shoes. We'll have shoe covers.
  • Reschedule if anyone in your group has been around a sick dog.

You're welcome to meet Nalla, our puppies' mom, during your visit.

Do you ship puppies?

We don't ship. Puppies are picked up in person at our farm in Rio Linda, California, so you can meet us and see where your puppy grew up.

Is my puppy AKC registered?

Yes. Nalla and Rex are AKC registered, and every puppy goes home with an AKC registration application. You can choose limited registration, which is right for a family pet, or full registration for an extra fee.

Is my puppy microchipped?

We don't microchip our puppies. We recommend asking your vet to microchip your puppy at its first visit. It's quick, inexpensive and a big help if your dog ever gets lost.

What vaccines and deworming will my puppy have?

Every puppy is dewormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks, gets its first puppy vaccine at 6 weeks, and is examined by our veterinarian before going home. Your puppy goes home with a signed record of every vaccine and deworming, with dates. See the Health page for what comes next with your vet.

What comes home with my puppy?

An AKC registration application, vet exam record, vaccine and deworming record, signed purchase agreement and health guarantee, copies of the parents' health records, a blanket with mom's scent, a bag of current food, a puppy care packet, a collar and a favorite toy.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes. If your vet finds a serious illness your puppy had when it left us within the first 72 hours, we'll offer a replacement or a refund. Please see your vet within 3 days of going home.

What if I can't keep my dog later on?

If you're ever unable to keep your dog, at any age, contact us first and we'll help rehome them. And text us anytime with questions. We're here for the life of your dog.
